Five men were arrested near RAF Fairford in the plot that Benjamin Netanyahu claims Israel warned British intelligence about before the UK imposed sanctions on Israeli West Bank settlers.Benjamin Netanyahu, speaking to Fox News, called it "wild" and "absurd" that Britain responded to Israel's Iranian-attack warning by imposing sanctions on Israeli West Bank settlers.
A UK-Iranian dual national has been arrested in Westminster on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts, becoming the sixth person detained over the suspected plot against RAF Fairford. Counter Terrorism Policing confirmed the 27-year-old was held under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006, while a second man, 26, was questioned under caution. Investigators say foreign state involvement — widely believed to point to Iran — remains a live line of enquiry.
Andy Burnham had previously said the plot appeared likely to be linked to Iran, after three vans were found near the US base in Gloucestershire.
Senior National Coordinator Vicki Evans warned the investigation is 'hugely complex', with specialists 'interrogating multiple lines of enquiry' including possible state involvement.
The man who photographed the dramatic Fairford arrest says the military is NOT doing enough to reassure local residents.
