Cuban diplomats shouted at US ambassador after he hosted former political prisoners at the UN ahead of embargo vote

US ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz accused Cuban embassy staff of 'harassing, yelling, intimidating, and filming' newly freed political prisoners in New York. His 'Cuba Libre' panel showed footage of apparent detentions, and dissidents described years of torture. Cuban ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán called it a 'charade' and branded the US 'an international delinquent'. The vote is expected on October 27-28.

Waltz urged nations to look past '70 years of propaganda' and reject the resolution.

Washington has stepped up pressure since its military removed Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro in January.
