Cufflinks Charles I reportedly wore to his execution will go on show in Buckingham Palace's first royal jewellery exhibition

'Royal Jewellery: From Coronations to Keepsakes' opens at The King's Gallery in June 2027, with more than 300 pieces from Henry VIII to Elizabeth II. Two-thirds have never been seen in public. The star exhibit is the Diamond Diadem, made for George IV's coronation and later pictured on coins, banknotes and stamps bearing Elizabeth II. The Crown Jewels will stay at the Tower of London.

Queen Victoria's Small Diamond Crown, once placed on her coffin, will also be shown.

The Greville emerald necklace, last worn by the late Queen in 2019, will feature.

Curators promise human stories of 'love and loss, power and politics, family and faith'.
