Czech football coach goes viral for his 'fight' not to glance at reporter, saying his wife forbids it
David Oulehla, coach of FK Viagem Ústí nad Labem, who explained his viral eye-contact avoidance by saying: 'My wife is waiting for me at home, so I have to obey.'
David Oulehla, coach of Czech second division side FK Ústí nad Labem, became an internet sensation after footage showed him studiously avoiding looking at club presenter Sabina Jákšová throughout a post-match interview last Friday. Oulehla later explained his behaviour with disarming honesty, saying his wife 'forbids' him from looking and that he had to 'obey' because she was waiting at home. The clip racked up millions of views, with fans calling his willpower 'biblical'.
Jákšová, who joined the club as presenter at the end of last season, admitted her football knowledge is 'rather basic to minimal'.
Social media erupted with comments including 'he's fighting for his life' and 'his level of self-control is biblical'.
It is not the first time the club has gone viral — in November 2024 its presenter Táňa Bystroňová made headlines across Europe for interviewing players in revealing outfits.
