Dame Barbara Windsor's widower Scott Mitchell and EastEnders actress Tanya Franks split after three years but remain 'kind' friends

Scott Mitchell revealed the couple decided back in April that their romance should 'evolve into a now incredible and kind friendship'. He said he and Tanya Franks, who played Rainie Cross on and off for 15 years, 'had a couple of wonderful years together'. The pair went public in 2023, three years after Peggy Mitchell star Dame Barbara Windsor died with Alzheimer's aged 83.

Mitchell and Windsor were married for 20 years until her death in 2020.

Franks joined Mitchell's Babs' Army campaign raising money for Alzheimer's Research UK.

Mitchell hit back at critics who said he moved on too fast: 'How dare you?'
