Dame Judi Dench says it was Daniel Craig's idea to kill off M in Skyfall, and she is 'still sulking'

Dame Judi Dench, 91, reveals in her new memoir 'Is It Too Late to Make a Run For It?' that Daniel Craig personally pushed for her character M to be killed off in the 2012 Bond film 'Skyfall'. She was told over dinner at the Wolseley restaurant by producers Barbara Broccoli, Michael G. Wilson and director Sam Mendes — Craig was not at the table. Reports she wept on hearing the news are wrong, she insists: "Why on earth would I cry after 20 glorious years and eight Bond films?"
Dench jokes she brought it on herself, having begged since 'GoldenEye' to get out from behind M's desk — "Well, they did finally let me out… and they shot me."
She also reveals she has never watched Craig's next Bond film, 'Spectre', adding: "Because they killed me off, I'm still sulking."
Dench calls 'Tomorrow Never Dies' the hardest Bond to make, citing "a general air of chaos" and motorcycle couriers delivering new pages at 10pm for a 5am call.
