Daniel Ings confirms exit from Netflix's The Gentlemen and reveals Guy Ritchie stripped the 'humour' from Freddy

Guy Ritchie sat Daniel Ings down on his first day of series two and told him: 'We went too far with the humour; we got to pull it back.' The 40-year-old said he felt he 'couldn't rely on the scripts' because Ritchie throws them out on the morning of filming. Freddy was last seen decapitating Gospel John in the series two finale. The cast reunited on Monday to start shooting series three.

Ings called his departure 'a fun sense of closure' for Freddy Horniman.

He joked Freddy is 'probably mumbling into the ether somewhere in the British countryside'.

Freddy is the brother of Eddie, the aristocrat played by Theo James.
