Democrat James Talarico and Trump-backed Ken Paxton step up their Texas Senate tours as early voters flood the polls

A Texas Public Opinion Research poll last week put Talarico four points ahead, at 51 percent to Paxton's 47. Governor Greg Abbott warned 'if we lose Texas', Republicans have no chance in 2028. Talarico packed the Hogg Memorial Auditorium in Austin, telling students 'Texas is not for sale'. Early voting runs until October 30, before Election Day on November 3.

Talarico jabbed: 'I have a legislative record; Ken Paxton has a criminal record.'

Paxton told supporters in Selma: 'We fight for faith, family and freedom.'

A Talarico win would be Democrats' first statewide Texas victory since 1994.
