Detective raped by David Carrick calls for Met chief Mark Rowley to resign over the force's 'devastating' handling

Met lawyers challenged the severity of Detective Constable Linda Williams's PTSD, arguing she had been raped on only one occasion. The 60-year-old says the civil fight left her suicidal; the force has since settled with her for a six-figure sum without admitting liability. Carrick attacked her in 2004 during a three-month attachment in south London. She says: 'If I was raped tomorrow, I wouldn't report it.'

When she said no, Carrick replied: 'It's what I do. I'm going to carry on.'

Carrick, who assaulted more than a dozen women, is serving 37 life sentences.

She says Sir Mark Rowley is incapable of fixing the Met's 'deeply sexist' culture he vowed to change.
