Disabled girl, 7, fights for life after Oregon school shooting as first-time teacher is killed in attack identified as someone who called the role her 'dream job'

A seven-year-old disabled girl remains in a Portland hospital fighting for her life after the Silver Rail Elementary shooting in Bend, as Megan Lambert, 25 — a first-time teacher and volleyball coach — has been identified as among the dead. Lambert's loved ones remembered her as someone who "lit up the room" and had called teaching her dream job. Kelik Summer called the day of the attack "the worst day of my life" after his son Rhoam was killed.

Three children, aged five, eight and 11, were killed in the same special needs classroom.

Dad Kaylub Giamanco followed the gunman into the school and shot him dead.

A GoFundMe for the seven-year-old's family raised nearly $300,000 in a single day.
