Jailed ex-DUP leader Jeffrey Donaldson is to be questioned by the Met over an alleged rape inside Parliament
Jeffrey Donaldson and his wife Eleanor Donaldson. Donaldson, jailed last week for 15 years for child sex offences, now faces Met police questioning over an alleged rape inside Parliament in 2016.
His accuser, a woman from Northern Ireland, alleges the attack took place in the DUP offices at Westminster in 2016. She had previously claimed that Donaldson, 63, pressured her into drinking vodka shots before attempting to kiss her and slide his hand up her skirt. The PSNI referred her rape allegation to the Met on 13 October. The force has made no arrests and describes enquiries as being at an early stage.
Donaldson was jailed for 15 years last week after being convicted of sexual offences against two child victims.
He called those charges 'unbelievable' and has pledged to appeal his convictions.
A former senior PSNI detective said he had witnessed Donaldson in a drunken state inside Parliament.
