Green Oceans, a Rhode Island environmental organisation, says it has located the F/V Mistress roughly 92 feet underwater off Block Island — just 50 feet from a wind turbine at the Block Island Wind Farm. The vessel sank on 1 January 2019, killing two fishermen, and the US Coast Guard never found it despite a search. Michael Lombardi, president of Green Oceans, says he is "100%" certain of the identification after a survivor confirmed a key feature of the wreck.
