Prince William was reminded of his childhood CD-selling sideline by Rod Wyatt, a Skenfrith resident who turned out to be one of his old customers. Wyatt told the Prince he had bought a disc from him at a bric-a-brac stall on the Glanusk Estate when William was barely waist height. William laughed and confessed the business had "dried up a bit" before joking he might consider reopening it.

Skenfrith in Monmouthshire has suffered four serious floods over the past six years, the most damaging triggered when Storm Claudia dropped a month's worth of rain within 24 hours.

Rod Wyatt told William they eventually abandoned any attempt to hold back the floodwater one night, picked up two bottles of Prosecco and headed upstairs to watch Strictly.

William called the flooding crisis "mad", saying 'one in 50-year' events now happen every year and a 'holistic' approach to whole catchment areas is urgently needed.
