DOJ sends target letters to Democrats including Marc Elias as the Alaska 'Decoy Dan' probe widens on Election Day

Around 20 target letters were sent to prominent Democrats on Tuesday — Election Day itself — warning recipients they are subjects of a DOJ investigation into possible donor fraud and conspiracy charges linked to the 'Decoy Dan' scheme. Recipients included prominent election lawyer Marc Elias and at least one official at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, with Alaska's Republican Governor Mike Dunleavy having separately ordered a state-level investigation into Democratic nominee Mary Peltola's campaign.

The DOJ also faces an uphill battle in a parallel civil appeal after Obama-appointed Judge Sharon Gleason dismissed its ballot lawsuit on standing grounds.

The 'decoy' candidate, retired schoolteacher Daniel J. Sullivan, has reportedly vanished — Trump posting on Truth Social that he has 'totally disappeared, gone'.

One Alaskan voter, Greg Martone, was filmed realising he could not remember whether he voted for incumbent Senator Dan S Sullivan or the alleged spoiler candidate.
