Bryan Seaver, the nephew Dolly Parton personally chose to announce her death last month, is now at the centre of a bitter legal battle against her estate after allegedly sending threatening messages demanding money from her longtime manager Danny Nozell. A Tennessee judge has issued a temporary restraining order in favour of Parton's company She's Alive, LLC, prohibiting Seaver and his security firm from approaching estate employees and business partners within 1,000 feet. The dispute broke out less than a month after Parton died on August 25; Seaver was dismissed from his role on September 15 over what the estate described as "terrorising conduct."
Seaver allegedly invoked his 'military-contractor experience, access to weapons, and capacity for violence' while demanding payment from Nozell.
The judge cited a 'pattern of alleged threats' and Seaver's 'intention to retaliate' in granting the order, which also bans him from interfering with She's Alive's business relationships.
A full hearing is scheduled for October 7, when the court will consider next steps in the dispute over the late country icon's estate.
