Domino's admits there is 'a lot of work still to be done' after sales growth slows to 2.3% post-World Cup

Domino's Pizza enjoyed growth of 5.2 and 4.5 per cent in the previous two quarters, but the football boost faded early in the three months to September. Fewer customers are ordering too, with order growth sliding from 2.2 to 1.5 per cent. New boss Nicola Frampton is betting on fried chicken, and the London-listed chain insists it remains on track to hit its earnings targets.

Thinner pizzas are proving a hit with customers despite the wider slowdown.

Its 'chick'n'dip' range is still performing well, the chain says.

Former chief Andrew Rennie left after warning Britain was nearing 'peak pizza'.
