The 1,321-word Truth Social broadside ran nearly 86 per cent longer than President Donald Trump's previous record post, according to Factba.se. It followed Friday's 'Real Time', where Bill Maher said Trump had the 'lowest approval rating of any midterm candidate ever'. Trump branded the HBO host a 'biased, dumb SLEAZEBAG' and claimed he arrived drunk. He said Maher wants him on the show 'DESPERATELY — It won't happen!'

Trump praised former press secretary Karoline Leavitt for defending him on Maher's show.

Maher hit back defiantly on air: 'I like these dinners.'
