Driver had a 'medical incident' at the wheel before crashing into Wolverhampton Lidl and killing a man, ambulance service says

The man, in his 30s, was inside the store when the car smashed through the glass entrance on Finchfield Hill just before 6pm on Friday. Paramedics gave him advanced life support, but he was confirmed dead at the scene. Eight people were assessed, including a woman shopper who is in a serious condition. The elderly driver has reportedly since been released from hospital.

Lidl has closed the store until further notice and said it is 'saddened'.

Witness Tina Bonev called the crash 'absolutely terrifying', with 'shock and confusion' afterwards.

Footage captured a man shouting 'Everyone get out the store' as alarms sounded.
