Driver 'suffered medical incident at the wheel' before fatal Wolverhampton Lidl crash, police confirm
Police have confirmed the driver is believed to have suffered a medical incident before her SUV smashed into the Finchfield Hill store shortly before 6pm on Friday, killing a man in his 30s. Paramedics found eight patients at the scene; a woman shopper remains in a serious condition in hospital. The female driver was also taken to hospital, and police say the death is not being treated as suspicious.
Witness Tina Bonev called the crash 'absolutely terrifying' amid scenes of 'shock and confusion'.
Footage captured a man shouting 'Everyone get out the store' as an alarm sounded.
Lidl says the store will stay closed until further notice while it supports staff.
