Drivers and air passengers face delays as dense fog cuts visibility to under 100 metres across London and England

A yellow fog warning is in place across London and wide stretches of England and Wales until 10am on Sunday, with some dense patches expected to linger into the afternoon. The Met Office's Matt Watts warned that visibility in the worst-affected areas could fall below 100 metres, with travel delays likely for road users and air passengers.

Affected regions span the East Midlands, South East, North West, West Midlands, Yorkshire and Humber, South West England, and parts of Wales including Powys and Wrexham.

Motorists are urged to check road conditions before setting out and ensure fog lights are working; airline passengers should expect possible cancellations.

The fog follows a brutal fortnight of storms — Austen and Boelo left thousands without power and gave England its wettest week since October 2024.
