Drunk British passenger, 30, faces jail for exposing herself on a Florida flight that cost £20,000 to divert

Sarah Parker, 30, of Halifax, West Yorkshire, admitted outraging public decency after pulling down her shorts and underwear in the aisle of a packed TUI flight bound for Melbourne, Florida on 24 July 2025. Manchester magistrates decided their sentencing powers were insufficient for the case and referred it to Minshull Street Crown Court.

The TUI flight from Birmingham was diverted to Manchester Airport, causing £20,000 in financial losses.

Prosecutor Edward Downes told magistrates Parker was intoxicated, ignored the pilot's instruction to remain seated during take-off, and exposed herself in front of appalled fellow passengers.

Parker also pleaded guilty to being drunk on a plane and failing to comply with the pilot's instructions.
