DUP MP Carla Lockhart quits as a party officer over strategy 'concerns' amid a deepening rift with leader Gavin Robinson over Stormont's future

'I believe in standing true to my principles,' the Upper Bann MP said, refusing to sit on the DUP's decision-making committee while she has concerns about its strategy. She wants deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly pulled from Stormont, which would automatically remove O'Neill as First Minister. Leader Gavin Robinson insists the party reached an 'agreed position' to stay. Asked if she might quit the DUP entirely, he said: 'I hope that's not the case.'
Michelle O'Neill was interviewed by police on Wednesday over the unnotified Garvaghy Road protest.
Asked if she backs Robinson, Lockhart said only: 'the unionist people want action.'
Lockhart claims someone inside the DUP leaked her resignation to the media.
