Earl wins High Court battle with traveller site owner accused of threatening to bring '50 people and 15 dogs' to his woods

Kenneth Mackay, the 83-year-old fourth Lord Inchcape, spent £100,000 on dog-handler security guards and surveillance cameras after Leeroy Johnstone began fencing off part of a wood near Manor Farm in Wiltshire. Johnstone claimed he bought the land 'from a farmer'. Mr Justice Marcus Smith has now declared Lord Inchcape the legal owner. The court heard Johnstone had led a 'persistent campaign' against the guards.

Johnstone runs a caravan site in Clyffe Pypard that was set up without planning permission.

Lord Inchcape refused to see Johnstone when he turned up waving a 'document' on his phone.

Lawyers for Lord Inchcape feared work on the woods could put him in breach of planning rules.
