EastEnders star Danny Hatchard is engaged to Kerry Scouler after a romantic Amsterdam boat proposal

Danny Hatchard, 35, who played Lee Carter in EastEnders, has proposed to model Kerry Scouler during a nighttime boat trip in Amsterdam. Kerry announced the news on Instagram with the caption 'You & me forever? Don't mind if "I do"', showing off her diamond ring over champagne. The pair met in 2020 after Kerry slid into Danny's DMs to say she fancied his character on the soap. Fellow EastEnders alumnus Danny Dyer was among the fans who rushed to congratulate the couple online.

Kerry made the first move six years ago by messaging Danny to confess she fancied his character Lee Carter on Albert Square.

The couple kept their romance low-key but ran joint social media comedy accounts, billing themselves as 'Two plonkers plonking'.

Danny Dyer posted two red hearts in the comments, while former co-star Matt Lapinskas wrote: 'Yea lad well done congratulations to both of you.'
