easyJet is to cover the £66.50 cost of babies' first passports for families travelling with it while holiday costs spiral

Adult passport fees crossed the £100 threshold for the first time this year, reaching £102. A child's passport costs £66.50 through the online route, climbing to £80 via a paper form at the Post Office. With air fares forecast to rise by 20% next year, easyJet Holidays is offsetting the pressure by giving families exactly £66.50 — enough to cover a baby's first passport.

Stuart Wright of easyJet Holidays: covering it helps families make 'memories that little bit sooner'.

The promotion is aimed at families departing from Edinburgh.

Children's passports must be renewed every five years, compared with ten years for adults.
