EasyJet is to offer wifi on flights for the first time with Musk's Starlink, months after its boss RULED IT OUT
Installation of Starlink wifi across EasyJet's A320 and A321neo fleet is due to begin in the first half of 2027, with the rollout expected to finish by early 2028.
EasyJet chief executive Kenton Jarvis had said in January that a Starlink deal made no financial sense for the budget carrier. Installation across its A320, A320neo and A321neo jets is now scheduled to start in the first half of 2027, with the full fleet equipped by early 2028, giving travellers the ability to stream, play games and browse the web on personal devices. The airline has refused to say whether flyers will pay.
Ryanair has warned that using Starlink could cost it up to $250 million a year.
Rival Wizz Air struck a similar deal in June, while British Airways already offers Starlink.
Passengers may even be able to order from the onboard menu without leaving their seats.
