Ed Sheeran's Gillette Stadium shows cancelled by nor'easter storm in fresh blow to troubled Loop Tour

Ed Sheeran's two Gillette Stadium concerts have been axed after severe weather warnings swept across New England, with the nor'easter expected to bring dangerous winds and several inches of rain to the open-air Foxborough venue. The cancellations are the latest setback for a tour already engulfed in controversy over the removal of rapper Macklemore after his pro-Palestine onstage comments. Ticketholders are being automatically refunded by Ticketmaster.
Gillette Stadium is owned by Robert Kraft, who reportedly pressured Sheeran to drop Macklemore or lose venue access.
All four of Sheeran's remaining support acts — Finneas, Lukas Graham, Aaron Rowe and his backing band — quit in solidarity with Macklemore after his axing.
Sheeran, 35, broke down in tears onstage earlier this week, saying he feels 'abandoned' by friends and family amid the mounting backlash.
