Ellen DeGeneres Show producer Matthew Wright, 52, dies in Los Angeles just HOURS after visiting a former colleague on set
Matthew Wright, who spent 16 years as executive producer on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show', died suddenly on October 30 in Los Angeles, where he was working remotely, while his husband and family were in New York. A GoFundMe described his death as an 'unfathomable tragedy', with no cause of death given. DeGeneres, sobbing in an Instagram video, said she and Wright had been about to launch a new project together.
Wright and his husband Justin Fusella had both been laid off earlier this year, leaving the family unable to cover funeral and travel costs.
Jennifer Hudson revealed she had seen Wright just one day before his death, when he visited the set of 'The Jennifer Hudson Show's' Halloween episode.
DeGeneres said Wright and the late DJ Stephen 'tWitch' Boss were close, adding: 'Now he and tWitch are together, dancing and laughing.'
