Elon Musk admits closing Starlink 'loophole' in Ukraine, claiming Kyiv broke the rules 'to kill people' with drone strikes
Elon Musk had previously denied responsibility for the week-long slowdown, which cut drone links at around 100mph. President Donald Trump also denied any role, then said on Friday that Musk 'put it back'. Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed on Saturday that Starlink and Starshield were back at pre-restriction speeds. Defence Minister Yevhenii Khmara said connections above 400km/h are now possible.
The cap wrecked several Ukrainian combat missions and hampered the interception of Russian drones.
Musk insists the commercial service is for 'civilian or defensive use' only.
The restrictions coincided with Trump's deal to buy Russian diesel for the US.
