Elon Musk pours another $76 million into the US Republican midterm push, taking his total past $442 million

The biggest single chunk, $158 million, went to the Senate Leadership Fund, which passed it within a day to a Texas super PAC backing Ken Paxton. Paxton, the Texas Attorney General, faces Democrat James Talarico in a tight Senate race. Musk has repeatedly attacked Talarico on his platform X. His midterm spending already dwarfs the $288 million he gave in 2024.

Musk gave $276 million to his super PAC and Republican groups between July and September.

He also sent $20 million to a House GOP super PAC and $10 million to Republican governors.

Texas, home to Tesla, SpaceX and Boring Co, goes to the polls on 3 November.
