Emi Martinez is conscious in hospital after a sickening collision with Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite, says Xabi Alonso

The Argentine goalkeeper received oxygen treatment on the pitch before being stretchered off following around seven minutes of attention. He had come off his line to claim a free-kick and clashed heads with Branthwaite. Belgian keeper Mike Penders replaced him and made his Premier League debut. Two Pedro Neto goals sealed a 2-0 win that lifted Chelsea to fourth.
Alonso said Martinez left the stadium conscious and is undergoing 'precautionary tests'.
Everton fans are disputing claims that sections of Goodison booed the stricken keeper.
The defeat was Everton's first of the season and gave Chelsea their first league clean sheet since January.
