British-Israeli hostage survivor Emily Damari has released a video condemning those who "deny, distort, or simply choose to look away" from the October 7 Hamas attack, ahead of its third anniversary tomorrow. Damari, who was held for 471 days in Gaza before her release in January 2025, thanked British MPs, media and the public for refusing to let the hostages be forgotten. She held up her hand — missing fingers shot off during her kidnapping — at the video's close.
Damari wore tape bearing the name of her dog Choocha, who was killed in front of her by Hamas terrorists on the day she was taken from Kibbutz Kfar Aza.
She warned that Jewish communities in Britain have faced rising antisemitism since October 7 and "have often felt afraid simply because they are Jewish."
Damari ended with a plea to stand against terrorism and antisemitism, saying "Am Yisrael chai" — Hebrew for "the people of Israel live."
