Eric Bauza, Mel Blanc's successor as the voice of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, dies suddenly in LA aged 46
Eric Bauza, the Emmy-winning Canadian voice actor behind Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, had been due to appear at Sunday's premiere of Warner Bros' *The Cat in the Hat* at the time of his death, aged 46.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner says Eric Bauza died at home on Sunday from hypertensive cardiovascular disease. His family shared the news on his Instagram account and promised 'more details to come'. The Canadian star had just voiced ten characters in this summer's hit 'Coyote vs Acme'. That film grossed $101.5 million after Warner Bros once shelved it as a tax write-off.
The three-time Emmy winner, born in Scarborough, Toronto, racked up more than 400 credits.
Warner Bros chief Channing Dungey praised a 'unique voice talent' who followed 'giants like Mel Blanc'.
Bauza called Blanc 'the blueprint' and named Bugs Bunny as his favourite character to voice.
