Erika Kirk blasts 'absurd' bid by accused killer Tyler Robinson's lawyers to delay Charlie Kirk murder trial until 2029

Charlie Kirk's two children were three and one when he was shot. Erika Kirk's lawyers say they would be seven and five before a verdict under the defence timetable. Utah District Court Judge Tony Graf is to hold a hearing on Friday to set a trial date, with prosecutors saying they could be ready by October 2027. Tyler Robinson, 23, denies aggravated murder and could face the death penalty.

Robinson's defence has already cost taxpayers around $1.6 million in its first year.

His lawyers claim a firm date creates 'false precision' because 'death is different'.

Kirk family lawyer: the children will face the case 'longer than they had their father'.
