Eurostar trains still thunder past Stratford's 'ghost' international station, which could open to passengers for just £20 million

Eurostar trains still thunder past Stratford's 'ghost' international station, which could open to passengers for just £20 million

Stratford International was completed in 2006, but its two international platforms have never served a single cross-Channel passenger. Passport booths, escalators and even toilets have sat ready for years. Lord Sadiq Khan wants one in three trains to and from France to stop there. The Government is in talks with French authorities, and the station could be busy within four years.

Sir Richard Branson's Virgin is exploring cross-Channel services to take on Eurostar.

Trains would run from Stratford to Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

The entrance is a nondescript double door on a blank wall.
