Ipswich Town defender Leif Davis donated £2,000 to Noah's family after joining the search for the missing three-year-old before his body was recovered from Decoy Pond in Brantham. Players from both clubs wore black armbands during Saturday's Premier League match, and three minutes in, supporters rose in a minute's applause. Noah's father Rhys Woods wrote: 'There are no words to describe the pain of this loss — he was the sweetest and most innocent little boy.' Over 6,000 donors have now contributed to the JustGiving page organised by Good Dads Club.
Noah, who was non-verbal, partially deaf and being assessed for autism, vanished from a playground in Brantham on Tuesday after becoming separated from a relative.
Around 1,300 members of the public joined the search before Met Police divers recovered his body from Decoy Pond on Wednesday; his death is not being treated as suspicious.
Ipswich captain Dara O'Shea and goalkeeper Christian Walton laid flowers at the playground, and Noah's family have been told about the fundraiser and are said to be 'incredibly grateful'.
