Visitors to the reopened park found deserted rides, blood-themed cocktails and gruesome Halloween displays, and uneasy families queued only for the tamest attractions. The Goliath coaster, from which Hassan Kariem, 42, was thrown on Monday, remains padlocked. Four children were injured in the same accident. The park quietly dropped 'Dead Man's Party' from its event name, which is now simply 'Dr. Fright's Party'.

Sister coasters in Illinois, California, New Jersey, Ohio and Ontario have all been grounded.
