Reece Salmon, 28, was stabbed on Lloyd Baker Street in Clerkenwell shortly before 11.20pm on Wednesday and died in hospital the following day. His family issued a statement describing him as a 'loving partner and son' who leaves behind a wide circle of friends and loved ones. Scotland Yard detectives are pursuing urgent inquiries, with nobody yet arrested in connection with the killing. In the immediate aftermath, police were granted Section 60 stop-and-search powers across Caledonian Road, Clerkenwell and Hoxton.
Lloyd Baker Street is among north London's most expensive addresses, where properties have sold for up to £2.25 million over the past year.
Family and friends have laid flowers, candles and balloons at the scene as the murder investigation continues.
Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart called on anyone with information to come forward, warning that residents 'may have information of vital importance' to the inquiry.
