Family of murdered MP Sir David Amess call the spitting on his statue in a pro-Palestine activist's TikTok video 'deeply upsetting'

Radd Seiger, spokesman for the Amess family, said 'disagreement should never be an excuse for abandoning basic standards of decency'. He said Sir David 'was murdered because of the extremism of another individual'. The family trust police to 'take the necessary action'. They also vowed to keep pursuing 'questions about his death that remain unanswered'.

In the clip a man calls Sir David a 'p***k' who 'voted for the Iraq war', then spits.

TikTok user 'Angry Jesus' posted the footage but denies it was him spitting.

Dame Priti Patel condemned it as a 'sickening and disgusting act' by 'a vile individual'.
