Family pay tribute to father-of-two who was killed when a pensioner's car smashed into a Wolverhampton Lidl

James Singh Jagpal, 39, a devoted father of two daughters from Wolverhampton, was inside the Lidl on Finchfield Hill when a dark blue Renault ZOE driven by a woman in her 70s smashed through the glass doors shortly before 6pm on Friday 23 October. The driver experienced a medical episode at the wheel, received treatment at the scene and was subsequently released from hospital. His family is urging people not to share or circulate distressing footage of the aftermath that has spread on social media.
West Midlands Police say the elderly driver will be spoken to 'in due course' — no charges have been announced.
Two other women who sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital have since been discharged, and four more were treated at the scene.
His family said: 'James was the absolute centre of our world, and it is unimaginable how we will navigate life without him by our side.'
