James Singh Jagpal, described by his family as a loving father of two daughters and a dedicated partner of more than two decades, was killed when a car crashed through the doors of a Wolverhampton Lidl on Friday.

James Singh Jagpal, 39, a devoted father of two daughters, died after a 70-year-old woman's SUV smashed through the side of the Lidl on Finchfield Hill, Wolverhampton, shortly before 6pm on Friday. His family described him as "the absolute centre of our world" and expressed gratitude to everyone — staff, customers and emergency services alike — who helped him in his final moments.

Jagpal had been with his partner for over 20 years and was remembered for his 'kindness, generosity and wonderful sense of humour.'

The 70-year-old woman driver has been discharged from hospital and West Midlands Police will question her in due course.

Two further women sustained injuries and were taken to hospital, though both were later discharged, police confirmed.
