Family texts on Ilhan Omar's sister's seized phone reportedly triggered the federal raid on the US congresswoman's home

Investigators seized Sahra Noor's phone earlier this year, and its messages persuaded a federal judge to approve Monday's search. Agents left with Ilhan Omar's phone, passport, notebooks and computers. Noor, who lives in Kenya, pulled out of a Rochester book event citing a 'family emergency'. Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin has suggested the probe could end in deportation.
Agents reportedly went 'dumpster diving' through Omar's rubbish for DNA before the raid.
Omar's lawyers called the search 'neither justified nor lawful' and demanded her property back.
The Justice Department said that letter was 'riddled with false allegations and inaccuracies'.
