Nigel Farage has insisted Reform UK's vetting is not at fault after an ITV undercover investigation caught councillors and candidates on camera making racist, sexist and violent remarks — including suggesting the King should be beheaded for being a "secret Muslim". Farage argued the people filmed had been "provoked in conversation" by reporters, and accused the "establishment" of targeting Reform in a way no other party faces. Separately, fresh footage from ITV shows Farage himself pushing back against senior advisers urging him to sack mayoral candidate Chris Parry, a retired rear admiral accused of telling David Lammy to "go home to the Caribbean". Reform's head of communications Ed Sumner was filmed calling Parry "clearly a racist" months before the party eventually suspended him.
Reform MP Sarah Pochin is also heard in the footage complaining that male party officials are "so f***ing chauvinistic" and exclude women.
Solihull deputy mayor Alan Feeney, caught on film saying the UK population should be no more than 1% non-white, has been suspended from his job as a custodial manager at HMP Birmingham.
Prime Minister Andy Burnham demanded Reform take "immediate and firm action", saying: 'We've allowed a poison into our politics in recent years, and it's time to draw a line under it.'
