Farage cancelled a press conference in Essex on Thursday morning but still took to the streets of Chelmsford after an ITV undercover documentary filmed eight Reform councillors and candidates using racist, violent and sexist language over a year of covert filming. Bromley councillor Dean Miller was recorded saying King Charles should be beheaded because he "is a Muslim", while Solihull deputy mayor Alan Feeney called for Asians to be "dragged out of their homes" and flown to Pakistan. Reform has suspended members and says those filmed have either resigned or been suspended pending investigation. The full documentary, 'Undercover: A Year In Reform', is set to air on Sunday at 10.20pm.
Feeney, who had defected from the Conservatives, also said no more than 1% of the British population should be non-white and described his approach as "Alan's racist canvassing".
Labour chair Bridget Phillipson called the footage 'truly sickening' and said Farage 'can't shrug these latest revelations off as being a few bad apples'.
Two Leeds Reform councillors, David Dresser and Paula-Jane Thackray, quit the party after separate suspensions, forming a new group called Leeds First Independents.
