Father of Manchester man shot dead in Washington state says he had 'heart of gold' as murder hunt continues

Jamie Thomas Stephen Lomas, 26, of Manchester, died from multiple gunshot wounds at a property near Kent, Washington state, on 22 August following a domestic disturbance. His father Stephen described himself as 'devastated', saying Jamie had 'a heart of gold'. King County's major crimes unit is now heading the investigation, and no arrests have been made. The family has set up a GoFundMe page that has so far raised £7,200 toward a £10,000 target to bring his body home.

Jamie's family said he was 'tragically murdered in America', leaving them 'completely heartbroken' and 'struggling to come to terms with such a devastating sudden loss'.

King County Sheriff's Office confirmed senior detectives from Seattle's major crimes unit are leading the active investigation, with no suspects in custody.

The Foreign Office confirmed it is supporting the family and is in contact with local US authorities over the case.
