Driver in her 70s is released from hospital as family hail 'kind' father-of-two who was killed in Wolverhampton Lidl crash

James Singh Jagpal, 39, of Wolverhampton, was inside the Finchfield Hill Lidl on Friday evening when a dark blue Renault Zoe, whose driver — a woman in her 70s — suffered a medical episode at the wheel, crashed through the glass doors and killed him. His family described him as a loving father to two daughters and a dedicated partner of more than two decades, remembered for his kindness and sense of humour.
West Midlands Police say James's death is not being treated as suspicious; the elderly driver will be spoken to 'in due course'.
Two other shoppers taken to hospital with serious injuries have since been discharged, as have four others treated at the scene.
His family has urged the public to stop sharing distressing footage of the aftermath circulating on social media.
