FBI arrests another suspected ShinyHunters hacker after breach of bureau's own jobs portal

FBI Director Kash Patel announced on Friday that a suspected co-conspirator linked to the ShinyHunters hacking group had been arrested earlier that week, as the bureau presses forward against what it calls an expanding criminal network. The group claimed to have taken sensitive personal data on nearly all FBI agents and job applicants via the bureau's FBIjobs.gov portal, which is hosted on a third-party vendor's platform. Patel pledged to 'disrupt what's left of the ShinyHunters group and their associates, no matter where they operate.' Investigators confirmed that no classified FBI systems were compromised in the breach.

ShinyHunters, a criminal hacking and extortion gang, claimed to have seized data on almost every FBI agent and applicant who used the jobs portal.
