FBI arrests Massachusetts man for allegedly bombarding Trump aide's wife Katie Miller with more than 40 menacing calls

John Anthony Proia III, 41, of Waltham, Massachusetts, pleaded not guilty to a single count of cyberstalking after allegedly targeting Katie Miller — conservative podcaster and former DOGE adviser — with more than 40 calls and texts between August and September. Proia also allegedly contacted her parents with expletive-laced messages attacking both her and her husband, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller. A federal grand jury indicted him on Thursday, and a magistrate judge ordered him to surrender his crossbows, machetes and passport.

In one message to Katie Miller's mother, Proia allegedly asked: 'Does it disturb you that such evil as [Stephen Miller] is married to the creature that slithered from your c***?'

The probe caused upheaval inside the FBI's Washington field office, where two senior counterterrorism supervisors were reassigned over their handling of the Miller investigation.

Katie Miller thanked law enforcement on X, writing: 'Good to see a Boston grand jury indict this man.'
