SeaWorld San Diego investigates after a rescued beluga becomes the FIFTH whale from Canada's Marineland to die

Cyprus, a nine-year-old male beluga, died on Sunday after refusing food for two days; he had been in California for fewer than two months. Overnight veterinary monitoring had already revealed abnormal intestinal function via ultrasound. Pathologists will conduct a full necropsy, with the findings submitted to NOAA. Four other belugas from Marineland had previously died at Chicago's Shedd Aquarium.
Cyprus was transported more than 2,500 miles in cold-water units on August 22.
Fellow rescues Xavier and Jasper are reported stable and still adjusting.
Marineland in Niagara Falls shut down following financial difficulties and controversy over its treatment of belugas.
