Federal agents raid New York City adult day care centres in sweeping Medicaid fraud probe over kickbacks and money-laundering
Dr Mehmet Oz, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator, claimed the 'Chinese mafia' may be paying people to help run the scam. He delivered warning letters to Kent Senior Care and Evergreen Adult Day Care in Flushing, Queens. Oz joined two of more than 80 visits on Tuesday, many ending in arrests. He said 'the whole experience was suspicious'.
Oz told Kent's director: 'The billing is for more people. It doesn't look very crowded.'
He asked whether American taxpayers should fund a centre packed with mahjong tables.
Donald Trump and JD Vance unveiled a $25 million whistleblower scheme the same day.
